Abstract(s)
intervenção digital no Stress Percebido. O estudo utilizou dados do estudo NoHoW durante seis meses
Portugal, Reino Unido e Dinamarca.
No entanto,
stress percebido.
ABSTRACT: The World Health Organization has considered stress to be the "epidemic of the 21st century". It is essential to adopt strategies to reduce its impact. Physical activity has a positive effect on mental health levels. So, with the rise of technology and the possibility of interventions that utilize it, it will be interesting to delve deeper into this area. This study sought to understand the impact of a digital intervention on perceived stress mediated by levels of physical activity. The study used data previously collected by the NoHoW study during a six-month intervention. The sample included 924 participants (Age M = 44.8; SD = 11.81) from three countries, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Denmark. Each participant was provided with electronic equipment and specific content made available by the NoHoW project. The Perceived Stress Scale and the short version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire were used as assessment measures. A mediation analysis was carried out between the three variables. With regard to the total effect of the model, a statistically significant effect was identified (β = -.0868; p = 0.0083). However, with regard to the indirect effect of the model, the mediation between the use of the app, physical activity and perceived stress, there was no statistically significant effect (β = .0013; CI = [ -.0057; .0088]). It is important to understand what optimizations can be made to digital interventions so that they are more effective in promoting physical activity and also demonstrate greater effectiveness in reducing perceived stress.
