Abstract(s)
A observação
intervenções e a prevenir psicopatologias futuras.
ABSTRACT: The present work has the objective of better understanding the emotional development and first relations establishment in twin brothers. The single case study was realized using the Esther Bick Observation Method and was composed by ten observations between the 3rd and 8th months. The observations were organized according to two distinct axis: the relations created between the twins and their developmental acquisitions. The intent was to understand how both axis influence each other and how the maternal and other significant figures contribute to their regulation and development. The observations allowed us to realize that a disturbed early motherhood, the insecurity of a first born, the discrepancy between the child and the mother´s may lead to inadequacy in mother – son relationship, specially the interaction with the female twin, who seems less stimulated by the looking towards other figures as way to contain her needs. The fear of being left out of the relationship between twins drives the mother to interfere in it, in a harmful way and, subsequently, to prevent it from developing healthy. The chosen method allows us a deeper understanding of these early development stages, in a intensive and detailed way, and it’s our believe that its use in this research contributes, not only, to a better knowledgement of families with twins, but also to the creation of psychopathology preventive measures.
