Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: Playback Theatre (PT) is a form of improvised theater characterized by its ability to drive social change. Currently, there are not many investigations that study the impact of this form of theater on advocating for Human Rights. This research aims to investigate the use of Playback Theatre as a tool to drive changes in attitudes towards Human Rights in a school context. It was conducted 2 questionnaires in two phases (pre-test and post-test) and 9 TP campaigns in 29 classes from Lisbon Metropolitan Area that participated in the "Dar Palco à Diferença" project. 281 students responded successfully to the first questionnaire, and in the second hand, it was possible the participation of 160 students. Statistical analyses were conducted on the results obtained from the questionnaires. The results highlighted that it was not possible, in a statistically significant manner, to prove that the TP campaigns had an effect on improving the participants' attitudes towards Human Rights. Subsequently, the methodological limitations and proposals for future studies were discussed.
