Abstract(s)
ajudámos a conter.
This study is the observation of a special communication process developed in a severe cerebral palsy case. An alternative way of communication was developed far from any technical intervention within a restricted familiar environment for 35 years. In this case study we describe other possibilities of non-verbal interaction based on a new sphere of creativity. A different level of communication was created beyond the use of simple words, and new instruments and daily objects were converted in extensions of the act of communication. Júlio, seized in a 95% paralysis, found ways to survive in a closed and hidden relationship with his mother, under the rules of guilt and exclusive love. Unable to separate the communication phenomena from the sight of an autonomous world, we observed a secret relationship with its own principles and ethics, a place where the whole pulsions flood were embraced under proper conventions. This symbiotic connection was the cradle of unexpected events and rare expressions we could not avoid to mention. This survival cell held a double, a different life paradigma, where secret laces were revealed, little by little. Julio died in the course of this study, and the balance of an interdependent life system crumbled. A long and painful mourning came, taking a beloved mother to a delirious exhaustion we could barely help to contain. This is also the story of a mother having in her child the entire world.
