Abstract(s)
emocional, bem-estar eudaimónico e desempenho desportivo subjetivo.
medir a inteligência emocional, o Questionnaire of Eudaimonic Well-Being in Sports
o rendimento desportivo percebido. A amostra resultante do presente estudo foi assim
constituída por 122 jogadores/as de futebol (M = 16.6, DP = 2.77), 27 (22.1 %) do género
feminino e 95 (77.9 %) do género masculino.
inteligência emocional e o desempenho desportivo percebido.
ABSTRACT: The goal of this research is to explore the connection between emotional intelligence, eudaimonic well-being, and subjective sports performance. The study intends to provide insight into how emotional intelligence impacts sports performance, with eudaimonic well-being as a mediating factor. To achieve this objective, an online questionnaire was administered to 122 soccer players between the ages of 14 and 26 (M=16.6, SD=2.77). The survey employed the Trait Meta Mood Scale (TMMS-24; Salovey et al., 1995) to measure emotional intelligence, the Questionnaire of Eudaimonic Well-Being in Sports Context (QEWBSC; Batanero et al., 2021) to evaluate eudaimonic well-being, and the Questionnaire of Perceived Sports Performance (QPRD; Gomes, 2016) to assess perceived sports performance. The sample comprised 27 (22.1%) females and 95 (77.9%) males. The results indicated a significant positive correlation between emotional intelligence and perceived sports performance. The study also found a significant correlation between emotional intelligence and eudaimonic well-being, as well as between eudaimonic well-being and perceived sports performance. The researchers' hypothesis, which posited eudaimonic well-being as a mediator between emotional intelligence and sports performance, was supported. However, it was revealed that only the Sense of Significance and Purpose dimension of eudaimonic well-being mediated this effect. The study's outcomes carry significant implications for the development of psychological strategies and interventions aimed at enhancing emotional intelligence. The researchers recommend a more comprehensive and integrated approach that fosters a sense of meaning and purpose, critical to eudaimonic well-being and to improve performance.
