Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: âThe diary of Anne Frankâ can be considered an historical document as, besides giving us facts on World War II and the consequences of Nazi persecution to Jews, it also shows in a wide way the adolescence problems faced by the author in an environment of closure, of constant fear of death and of limitation of human contact for almost two years inside a Secret Annex. The main purpose of this essay is to try to analyze Anneâs Adolescence between the ages of 13 and 15 based on what has been written in her Diary identified with what is referred on several theories about this period of human development. It is characterized by biological, emotional, cognitive and social changes. Several authors consider this transition period as the second process of separation-individuation characterized by manifestations of autonomy, family crisis, need of the external world and peers, situations of aggressiveness and conflict, construction of identity and the awakening of sexuality. It is tried to understand the repairing function that the âDiaryâ represented to Anne Frank in that survival period. When writing her thoughts and feelings, Anne was able to get closer and sustain her internal world and also create her own space in the Annex.
