Abstract(s)
O presente estudo tem como objetivo estudar a relação entre o stress ocupacional
e os sintomas de ansiedade e depressão e, posteriormente, o possível efeito mediador da
satisfação laboral nesta relação. Assim sendo, formulam-se as seguintes hipóteses: (H1)
a percepção de stress ocupacional tem um efeito positivo e significativo nos sintomas de
ansiedade; (H2) a percepção de stress ocupacional tem um efeito positivo e significativo
nos sintomas de depressão; (H3) a perceção de stress ocupacional tem um efeito negativo
e significativo na satisfação laboral; (H4) a satisfação laboral tem um efeito negativo e
significativo nos sintomas de ansiedade; (H5) a satisfação laboral tem um efeito negativo
e significativo nos sintomas de depressão; (H6) a satisfação laboral tem um efeito
mediador na relação entre o stress ocupacional e os sintomas de ansiedade; (H7) a
satisfação laboral tem um efeito mediador na relação entre o stress ocupacional e os
sintomas de depressão.
A amostra é constituída por 204 trabalhadores de diversas organizações situadas
em território nacional. Os resultados demonstram que o stress ocupacional tem um efeito
positivo e significativo nos sintomas de ansiedade e depressão. o stress ocupacional tem
um efeito negativo e significativo na satisfação laboral. A satisfação laboral tem um efeito
negativo e significativo nos sintomas de ansiedade e depressão. A satisfação laboral tem
um efeito mediador na relação entre o stress ocupacional e os sintomas de ansiedade e
depressão. De acordo com estes resultados, podemos concluir que o presente estudo
confirma a importância da satisfação laboral percecionada pelos trabalhadores
portugueses para a prevenção dos sintomas de ansiedade e depressão, consequentes do
stress ocupacional sentido pelos mesmos.
The present study aims to examine the relationship between occupational stress and symptoms of anxiety and depression, and subsequently, the possible mediating effect of job satisfaction in this relationship. Moreover, job satisfaction mediates the relationship between occupational stress and symptoms of anxiety and depression. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the present study confirms the importance of perceived job satisfaction among Portuguese workers in preventing anxiety and depressive symptoms resulting from occupational stress.
