Abstract(s)
Sucesso Académico no Ensino Superior (E.P.S.A.E.S.).
Discutimos os princípios orientadores, concepção, estruturação,
execução e avaliação desta disciplina que
entrou em funcionamento no ano lectivo de 2004/05. Os
bem-estar no Ensino Superior”.
It is presented a curricular intervention at the University of Aveiro, in the scope of one optional course named Estratégias de Promoção do Sucesso Académico no Ensino Superior (E.P.S.A.E.S.) [Strategies for Promoting Academic Success in Higher Education (S.P.A.S.H.E.)]. Guiding principles of the course, its conception, structure, execution, and evaluation are discussed. The course started in 2004/05 and its contents were based on previous PhD’s topics, organized in a modular way. The lecturer/student interaction was developed through blended learning. Traditional classes were complemented with an e-learning platform (Blackboard). The concepts that support the course’s name are discussed, followed by some considerations regarding the course structure and its first implementation. Furthermore, we describe the five nuclear modules delivered in the course, namely: (1) “University students’ sleep-wake patterns and academic success”; (2) “Literacy and academic success”; (3) “Speech techniques and oral presentations”; (4) “Learning experiences and academic self-regulation”; and (5) “Health and well-being promotion in higher education”. It is also presented the course objectives and some thoughts regarding the effectiveness of such objectives in the students’ academic success and their future professional life. Finally, the results of the 1st course edition will be presented and discussed.
