Abstract(s)
A família desempenha um papel importante do desenvolvimento e comportamento
infantil, sendo que o divórcio pode tornar-se uma experiência stressante. O presente
estudo, de carácter exploratório comparativo, tem como objectivo verificar se existem
diferenças no comportamento de crianças em situação monoparental, com pais
separados ou divorciados, e crianças em famílias intactas, pais juntos ou casados,
através da percepção de pais e professores. Os Instrumentos utilizados foram: Child
Behaviour Checklist, Teatcher´s Report Form e o Questionário de Caracterização da
Amostra. A amostra, de conveniência, é constituída por 30 crianças em famílias
monoparentais e 32 crianças em famílias intactas a frequentar o 1º ciclo (6 aos 10 anos).
Segundo os resultados, os professores tendem a identificar as crianças do grupo
monoparental como tendo mais problemas de comportamento do que as crianças do
grupo de famílias intactas o que leva à ideia de que o divórcio poderá ser um factor
importante no comportamento infantil.

The objective of this exploratory comparative research is to check if there are differences in child’s behaviour between a single parent’s situation, with divorced or separated parents, and children with two parents married or living together, through the perception of their own parents and teachers. The instruments used to evaluate the sample were: Child Behaviour Checklist, Teatcher´s Report Form and The Sample Characterization Questionnaire. This convenience sample is consisted by 30 children from a single parent situation and 32 other children from families with two married parents, between 6 and 10 years old. According to the results obtained, teachers tend to identify single parents’ children as having more behaviour problems than the ones from married parents; therefore divorce can have an important role in children’s behaviour.
