Abstract(s)
Através do universo mágico de Peter Pan e de um enredo que se desenvolve em torno da
fuga de crianças para a Terra do Nunca, podemos chegar a interpretações acerca do criador
James Barrie, constatando o seu positivismo dissimulado, relativamente a infâncias derrotadas,
lacunas parentais e a necessidade de recorrer à aventura e ficção para assim evitar o contacto com
os dolorosos eventos do passado. O livro Peter Pan constitui um valioso instrumento de análise,
com o objectivo de alcançar o mundo interno do seu escritor, compreender o gerador das suas
projecções maciças, bem como entender o trágico significado inerente à recusa em crescer. A
partir da sua biografia e de uma análise de conteúdo à sua obra, realizámos um estudo de caso
que, no limite, nos possibilitou constatar que esta criação literária representa uma autobiografia
secreta, sendo possível identificar autênticas semelhanças entre a personalidade aliada a cada
personagem e as pessoas reais da vida do autor.
ABSTRACT: Through the magic universe of Peter Pan and a tale that develops around the children’s escape to the Neverland, we can make interpretations about James Barrie, the author, and realize his dissembling positivism in relation to lost childhoods, parental gaps and the need to resort to the adventure and fiction with the purpose of advoiding the contact with distressing events of the past. The book Peter Pan has established as a valious tool of analysis, in order to achieve the writer´s inner world, understand the generator of his massive projections, as well as knowing the tragic meaning inherent to the refusal of growing up. Based on is biography and on the a content analysis to his work, we did a case study that, at least, allowed us to realize that this literary work represents a secret auto-biography, being possible to identify credible similarities between each character´s personality and the real people of the author´s life.
