The results suggest that: (a) boys, perceive a higher degree of emotional proximity towards their parents in the whole development; (b) girls compromise seriously, longer, and are more emotionally involved in the loving relationships; (c) individuals showing a secure loving attachment, represent the relationship with the mother as emotionally closer and more constant throughout the development, and have several romantic experiences; (d) when an adolescent had a separation of their parents and/or perceive emotional disturbances in the parents, there seems to exist a higher parental emotional estrangement and fewer intimate romantic relationships.
