Abstract(s)
feminino e 82 do masculino. Utilizou-se um QuestionĂĄrio SociodemogrĂĄfico, a escala Internet
Addiction Test (IAT), a escala Social Networking Time Use Scale (SONTUS), a escala The
Perception of False Self (POFS) e a escala Marlow-Crowne Social Desirability Scale.
The internet dependency, as well as its causes and consequences have been in an increasing trend over the investigation world, since from the dependency one witnesses a consequent social network addiction. The self is divided into two organizations, the true self and the false self. The false self has the function of defending the person from their fragilities and threats to the true self. The aim of the present investigation was to analyze the relationship between indices of social network addiction and the false self. The sample in this study included 501 participants, 419 females e and 82 males. Was used one Sociodemographic Questionnaire, the Internet Addiction Test (IAT), the Social Networking Time Use Scale (SONTUS), The Perception of False Self (POFS) and the Marlow-Crowne Social Desirability Scale. The results showed that more time passed on social networks correlated with greater perception of the false self and with greater generalized addiction to internet (an indicator of addiction to social networks). These associations have remained significant after control for social desirability.
