| dc.description.abstract | O número de voluntários tem crescido expressivamente, tal como a importância do seu papel na comunidade. Assim, é necessário delinear as motivações que levam as pessoas a doar o seu tempo e aptidões em benefício de outros. O estudo empírico presente surge da carência de investigações respectivas às motivações dos voluntários portugueses, especificamente, no contexto da acção e suporte social. Assim tem-se como objectivo observar as motivações mais valorizadas pelos voluntários na adesão/iniciação e abandono do voluntariado. Os resultados serão importantes para a optimização dos programas de voluntariado, tal como para a retenção a longo prazo de voluntários nas instituições. A amostra é constituída por 25 voluntários activos na Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Almada. Os instrumentos de avaliação utilizados incluíram um questionário sócio-demográfico, o Inventário de Motivações para o voluntariado (IMV, Gonçalves, Monteiro & Pereira, 2011) e o questionário de Souza, Medeiros e Fernandes (2006), posteriormente adaptado às necessidades do presente estudo. Dos resultados auferidos evidencia-se a existência de uma associação positiva entre as funções de Valores, de Experiência, Auto-estima/Crescimento e o processo de iniciação e permanência na prática voluntária. A função de Carreira é apontada como a menos importante para a adesão ao voluntariado. As interpretações dos resultados e suas implicações são discutidas com sustento na literatura relevante. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The number of volunteers has grown significantly, as the importance of its role in the community. Thus, it is necessary to delineate the motivations that drive people to donate their time and skills to benefit others. The empirical study arises from this lack of investigations related to the motivations of portuguese volunteers, specifically in the context of action and social support. So has the objective to observe the motivations most valued by volunteers in initiation and abandonment of volunteering. The results will be important for the optimization of volunteer programs, such as for long-term retention of volunteers in institutions. The sample consists of 25 active volunteers at the Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Almada. The assessment instruments used included a socio-demographic questionnaire, the Inventory of Motivations for volunteering (IMV, Gonçalves Pereira & Monteiro, 2011) and the questionnaire Souza Medeiros and Fernandes (2006), later adapted to the needs of the present study. Of results earned is evident that there is a positive association between the functions of Values, Experience, and Enhancement whit initiation process and permanence in voluntary practice. The Career function is considered the least important for joining the volunteer. The interpretations of the results and their implications are discussed in the relevant literature with sustenance. | por |
