Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: The humor climate in an organization shapes how individuals approach their tasks, interact with colleagues, and face challenges, which can, in turn, directly affect job performance. Furthermore, this relationship may also be influenced by other variables, such as the practice of physical activity, which has been linked to both physical and psychological benefits. Thus, the primary aim of the present study is to explore the relationship between humor climate and organizational performance, while also understanding the role of physical activity as a moderating variable. To this end, an online survey was applied to 193 participants, revealing that positive humor positively and significantly influences both task and context performance. Moreover, practicing physical activity has a positive and significant effect on the relationship between positive humor and contextual performance. These findings provide organizations insights for developing strategies focused on employee well-being and performance optimization, thereby fostering healthier work environments.
