Abstract(s)
A presente investigação procurou analisar e compreender a relação
entre a ansiedade materna de separação e a qualidade da adaptação psicossocial de
crianças em idade pré-escolar. Neste estudo participaram 46 crianças com 3 anos de
idade, respectivas mães e educadoras de infância. O estudo consistiu na aplicação de
dois instrumentos, a Escala de Ansiedade Materna de Separação, que foi administrada
às mães, permitindo identificar sentimentos e atitudes maternas face à separação, a
Escala da Adaptação Psicossocial, administrada às educadoras de infância, permitindo
identificar a qualidade da adaptação psicossocial das crianças. Os resultados obtidos
neste estudo indicaram que a ansiedade materna de separação influencia a qualidade de
adaptação psicossocial da criança. As mães que apresentam elevada ansiedade de
separação têm filhos com comportamentos de isolamento e pró-sociais. Com a nossa
investigação esperamos ter contribuído para uma melhor compreensão entre a relação
da ansiedade materna de separação e adaptação psicossocial da criança, bem como
alertar para importância da implementação de estratégias preventivas, que visam um o
desenvolvimento ajustado e um percurso adaptado.
The current investigation analysed and explored the relationship between the maternal separation anxiety and the quality of preschooler’s psychosocial adaptation. In this study we have included 46 children, with 3 years old, respective mothers and infant teachers. The study consisted on applying two instruments, the Scale of Maternal Separation Anxiety, which was administered to mothers, allowing identification feelings and attitudes concerning separation, the Psychosocial Adaptation Scale, administered to teachers, identified the quality of psychosocial adaptation of children. The results of this study indicated that maternal separation anxiety influence the quality of child psychosocial adaptation. Children of mothers who have high anxiety of separation will have isolation and pro-social behavior. With our research we have contributed to a better understanding of the relationship between maternal anxiety of separation and child psychosocial adaptation, and alert to importance of preventive strategies implementation of proper development and a suitable adaptation.
