Abstract(s)
Problema: O Teatro Playback (TP) é uma modalidade de teatro improvisado, que utiliza
narrativas pessoais da audiência como “matéria-prima” para as representações dramáticas. O
TP tem sido utilizado em diversos settings clínicos, e vários estudos salientam os seus
benefícios tanto ao nível individual como grupal. Em Portugal, poucos estudos foram
realizados que explorassem os seus potenciais terapêuticos. Objetivo: Este estudo propõe-se a
explorar a experiência subjetiva dos participantes num grupo de TP, com frequência semanal,
e compreender a pertinência desta prática num setting clínico. Método: É utilizada uma
metodologia qualitativa, de análise temática, incidindo sobre um focus group realizado com 10
dos participantes do grupo. O grupo é composto por 2 participantes do sexo masculino e 8 do
feminino, cujas idades estão compreendidas entre os 19 e 58 anos. Resultados: Foram
levantados 3 temas e 10 subtemas: 1) “reconhecimento da dimensão terapêutica”; 1.1) “a
coesão grupal”; 1.2) “o grupo como continente”; 1.3) “o ritual”, onde é traçada uma semelhança
com o setting psicoterapêutico; 1.4) “a heterogeneidade”; 2) “uma história partilhada”, onde é
realçada a importância das narrativas para a constituição do grupo; 2.1) “a minha vida enquanto
história”, as narrativas e o self; 2.2) as narrativas como “um lugar de encontro emocional”; 3)
“o corpo das histórias” refere-se à dimensão estética; 3.1) a representação como
“extensão/interpretação/complemento”; 3.2) “a materialização do mundo interno”; e 3.3) “a
importância do não-verbal”.
Problem: Playback Theatre (PT) is an unscripted form of theatre, that uses personal narratives from the audience as the “raw-material” for the dramatic representations. PT has been used in a variety of settings, including clinic, and many studies suggests a number of personal and group benefits. However, there are very few studies in Portugal about PT, and its therapeutic potential. Objective: This study aims to explore the subjective experience reported by participants of a weekly PT group and explore its potential therapeutic benefits. Method: Through a qualitative study and using thematic analysis, we proceeded to analyse the data from a focus group with 10 participants. The group was composed of 8 female and 2 male participants, aged between 19 and 58 years old. Results: 3 themes and 10 subthemes were identified: 1) “recognizing the therapeutic dimension”; 1.1) “group cohesiveness”; 1.2) the “group as continent”; 1.3) “the ritual”, and its similarities to psychotherapeutic setting; 1.4) “heterogeneity” of the group; 2) “a shared story”, the importance of shared narrative for group cohesiveness; 2.1) “my life as a story”, the relations between narrative and self; 2.2) narrative as “a place for emotional encounters”; 3) “the body of the story”, referring to the aesthetic dimension; 3.1) dramatic form as “extension/interpretation/complement”; 3.2) “materialization of the inner world”; and 3.3) “the importance of the non-verbal”.
