Abstract(s)
O objectivo do presente estudo foi comparar os padrões de interacção mãe-bebé em
díades de raça branca e díades de raça negra. Para além disso, procurou-se reflectir sobre seis
pares mãe-bebé, tendo por base o modelo psicodinâmico. O método utilizado foi o Estudo de
Caso e os instrumentos utilizados foram o “Método de Observação de Bebés de Esther Bick”
(1963) e a “Entrevista R” de Stern (1989). Foi analisada uma amostra de conveniência constituída
por três díades de raça branca e três díades de raça negra. Os bebés nasceram nos meses de Maio
e Junho de 2005 e as idades, à data da primeira observação, variam entre os 13 e os 37 dias.
Concluiu-se que tanto as diferenças culturais como os aspectos fundamentais da formação do self
na relação primária devem ser tidos em conta do ponto de vista clínico pelo que são importantes
na prevenção de desenvolvimento de psicopatologias e na promoção de saúde mental.
ABSTRACT: The purpose of the present study was to compare the patterns of interaction in white race dyads and dyads of African origin and to analyze the mother-infant interactions based on the psychodynamic perspective. The method used was the Case Study and the instruments used were the “Esther Bick´s Infant Observation Method” (1963) and “Interview R” by Stern (1989). A sample of convenience formed by three white dyads and three dyads of African origin was examined. Babies were born in May and June of 2005 and the age at the time of the first observation varies between 13 and 37 days. It was concluded that both the cultural differences as well as the fundamental aspects of the formation of the self in the precocious relation must be had in account from the clinical point of view, for they are very important in the prevention of development of pathologies and promotion of mental health.
