Abstract(s)
The present study aimed to explore a relationship between Fun at work and team performance and investigate this relationship mediated by cohesion. To this end, the sample is 36 teams from various sectors, being 75% in the construction sector (27 teams). In order to evaluate the variables it was required three instruments: the 18 items of McDowell´s Fun at work scale (2005); the reduced version of Williams and Anderson´s Self-Rated Performance (1991), originally composed by 21 items. This reduced version is a 4 items scale and the 22 items cohesion scale MSCI (Multidimensional Sport Cohesion Instrument) The results allow conclude that there is not a positive relation between cohesion and performance. The hypothesis about the mediator effect of cohesion in Fun at work and performance was not corroborated. In it´s turn, the results suggests that there is a positive relation between Fun at work and cohesion and between Fun at work and performance.
