Abstract(s)
O presente estudo pretende analisar a autoestima, o autoconceito e o estatuto social
entre pares em alunos indisciplinados. Neste estudo participaram 114 alunos do 2ยบ ciclo de
!!! This study aims to analyse the self-esteem, the self-concept and the children sociometric status among peers in undisciplined students. The study involved 114 students from two public middle schools, where 65 belonged to the 5th year of schooling and 49 to the 6th year, with an the average age of 11.3. The instruments used for the data collection were the Indiscipline Questionnaire constructed from the study of Amado and Freire (2009), the Scale of Self-concept and Self-esteem for Pre-Adolescent Children of Peixoto and collaborators (2007) and the Sociometric Task, built from the study of Coie, Dodge and Coppotelli (1982). The obtained results highlighted the existence of significant discrepancies in the levels of self-esteem and academic self-concept regarding the two groups of indiscipline. With respect to non-academic self-concept, there were not found significant discrepancies between the more undisciplined students and the less undisciplined students. Concerning the sociometric status among peers (popular and rejected); it was possible to verify the existence of significant discrepancies in the two groups of indiscipline. Finally, we verified that social status introduces differences in levels of academic self-concept, non-academic self-concept and self-esteem.
