Neste artigo fundamentamos e descrevemos uma
investigação concebida para analisar o papel do nome
dos números de dois dígitos, em português, no desenvolvimento
numérico de crianças em idade pré-escolar.
O nome dos números de dois dígitos é considerado
do ponto de vista da clarificação que oferecem sobre a
sua composição como conjuntos de dezenas e de unidades.
Este estudo enquadra-se num projecto de investigação
mais amplo, designado Projecto Mais-Pais.
In this article we present the theoretical support and describe a research study which was concerned to analyse the role of Portuguese names for two-digit numbers on the numerical development of pre-school age children. The name for two-digit numbers was considered according how they clearly show their composition as a collection of multiples of ten and of units. This study was part of a more vast research project: Mais-Pais Project.
