| dc.description.abstract | O presente estudo tem como principal objetivo construir e validar uma escala de crenças sobre a relação intergeracional entre avós e netos e, posteriormente, descrever as crenças dos netos, em idade infantil. A amostra, não probabilística ou intencional, é composta por 281 crianças com idades compreendidas entre os 7 e os 12 anos e capacidade de ler e compreender a língua portuguesa. Os instrumentos constaram de um questionário sociodemográfico de caracterização da amostra e das relações intergeracionais e uma escala de crenças sobre as relações intergeracionais entre avós e netos. O delineamento é do tipo observacional-descritivo transversal. Os instrumentos foram construídos com base na literatura e em três entrevistas semiestruturadas em profundidade. As entrevistas foram sujeitas a análise de conteúdo, de onde decorreram os itens da escala. Foi realizado um pré teste com três crianças para verificar a compreensão dos itens e ajustar a escala. A amostra foi recolhida e procedeu-se à validação psicométrica da escala. A Análise Fatorial Exploratória permitiu validar e destacar 4 fatores que remetem para os papéis inerentes às relações convencionais (emocional, instrumental, social e simbólico) e não convencionais. Foram realizadas análises descritivas e testes estatísticos no sentido de caracterizar a amostra e as relações intergeracionais entre avós e netos. As análises permitiram enfatizar a predominância de uma relação convencional com papeis tipicamente emocionais, sociais e simbólicos e instrumentais. Foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas entre géneros em função do papel não convencional. Não foram encontradas diferenças estatisticamente significativas conforme a existência de irmãos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The main objective of this study is to construct and validate a belief scale about the intergenerational relationship between grandparents and grandchildren and, later on, to describe the beliefs of the grandchildren, at a young age. The sample, not probabilistic or intentional, is composed of 281 children aged between 7 and 12 years old and the ability to read and understand the Portuguese language. The instruments consisted of a sociodemographic questionnaire characterizing sample and intergenerational relations and a belief scale on intergenerational relations between grandparents and grandchildren. The design is of the cross-sectional observational-descriptive type. The instruments were constructed based on the literature and three semi-structured interviews in depth. The interviews were subject to content analysis, from which the scale items were carried out. A pre-test with three children was performed to verify the comprehension of the items and to adjust the scale. The sample was collected and the psychometric validation of the scale was performed. Exploratory Factor Analysis allowed us to validate and highlight 4 factors that refer to the roles inherent to conventional (emotional, instrumental, social and symbolic) and non-conventional relationships. Descriptive analyzes and statistical tests were conducted to characterize the sample and intergenerational relationships between grandparents and grandchildren. The analyzes allowed to emphasize the predominance of a conventional relationship with typically emotional, social and symbolic and instrumental roles. Statistically significant differences were found between genders as a function of unconventional role. No statistically significant differences were found according to the existence of siblings. | pt_PT |
