Abstract(s)
Empathic Development Scale -KEDS, Empathy Questionnaire - EmQue e WPPSI-R.
influenciado estes resultados
ABSTRACT: In the world we live in, social skills and empathetic response to the needs of others are increasingly important for promoting positive social conduct, and bonding relationships play a crucial role in the way children create and strengthen their relationships. positive mental representations of themselves and others. Attachment theory provides a theoretical basis for understanding how a history of sensitive and responsive interactions with caregivers impacts the child's construction of positive mental representations, both of themselves, as someone confident and worthy of care, and of others. , as trustworthy and benevolent people, being able to form in this way, a safe basis for the development of empathy. The present study aimed to analyze the relationship between internal representations of attachment and empathy as a multidimensional construct, from the perspective of parents and children. All ethical principles relating to the rights and well-being of participants were ensured. 82 children, between 62 and 79 months old, participated in the research, to whom the following instruments were applied: Attachment Story Completion Task – ASCT, Kids Empathic Development Scale -KEDS, Empathy Questionnaire - EmQue and WPPSI-R. The results indicated a significant correlation between attachment representations and the behavioral dimension of empathy, which suggests that the quality of attachment representations may have an influence on the way children express empathy through behavior. However, no correlation was found between the other dimensions of empathy and internal representations of attachment, which suggests that empathy is shaped by several internal and external factors, in addition to attachment, which may have influenced these results.
