Abstract(s)
O sistema nervoso simpĂĄtico e o sistema nevoso parassimpĂĄtico influenciam a
A frequĂȘncia sexual real destes comportamentos
The sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system influence a heart rate, which reflects in variability in heart beat intervals or heart rate variability (HRV). Higher HRV at rest was previously associated with greater sexual desire and arousal. The aim of the study is to examine associations of resting HRV with sexual desire and frequency, in a sample of 67 women (M = 24.06 years). Heart rate was measured with a MP150 BIOPAC system, and HRV frequency domains were calculated: high frequency (HF) and low frequency (LF) power. Desired and actual sexual frequency of vaginal intercourse, noncoital sex, and masturbation, was reported, as well as a sexual satisfaction. The desire for coitus correlated inversely with a HF and coital frequency correlated directly with a HF. There were no correlations with LF. Satisfaction did not correlate with either a HF or LF. Sexual desire might be substantial influenced by sympathetic nervous system. In agreement with other studies, a greater parasympathetic tone seems to facilitate coital frequency.
