Abstract(s)
violência no namoro.
Given the growing concern about sexual violence against women in international university campuses, this study aimed to study the incidence of sexual violence in the Portuguese university students, since there is no research in Portugal with this specific objective. This research involved a total of 108 participants, university students, aged from 17 years, who completed an online questionnaire. The results were drawn only with the sample that obtained results of incidence of sexual violence, wich is 12%, and from this sample the overwhelming majority are female. More than half of the sample was involved in sexual intercourse without consent with someone for psychological pressure or threats on the part of the other person, and a large part of the participants had sexual intercourse without consent whilst intoxicated. Perpetrators of sexual violence are often known to the victim. The vast majority of participants never asked for help after the assault, and were never present at any presentation or lecture on sexual violence or dating violence. It can be concluded that it is urgent to intervene to prevent these attacks, forming young people early to understand the meaning of consent and to learn to deal with rejection in a positive way, focusing thereby the prevention in the aggressor instead of the victim.
