Apesar de ter sido um dos mais marcantes produtos da indústria musical o álbum The Wall dos Pink Floyd recebeu pouca atenção do meio académico, em particular dos estudiosos da psicologia. Em especial quando a obra tem um forte cariz autobiográfico do seu criador Roger Waters, através da história de Pink, Waters conta a sua. Constituindo assim uma fonte de informação, que de acordo com o conhecimento da psicologia, permite estudar o indivíduo e compreender a sua organização interna e relação com o mundo exterior, possibilitando um novo olhar a uma obra que teve grande impacto a nível artístico e social. Assim apresenta-se uma abordagem à obra que tem como objectivo uma análise ao personagem principal Pink recorrendo ao conhecimento da Psicologia Clínica. Teorias, modelos e conceitos como forma de olhar para um ser humano, enquanto pessoa, e aceder ao seu mundo interno e relação com o mundo externo. Procurando uma melhor compreensão das suas emoções, pensamentos e comportamentos. Colocou-se a questão de se a análise aqui apresentada se deveria estender à pessoa Roger Waters, no entanto o presente trabalho restringe-se somente à personagem Pink. Assinala-se este aspecto pois constitui um ponto de interesse para trabalhos futuros.
ABSTRACT: In spite of being one of the most remarkable products of the music industry the album The Wall from Pink Floyd as received very little scholarly attention, particularly from psychology. Especially when it’s a masterpiece which concerns a strong autobiographic countenance from its creator Roger Waters, through Pink’s history, Waters tells his one. Thus this masterpiece constitutes a source of information, that allows the study of the individual and the comprehension of his internal organization and relation with the external world, making possible a new look to a masterpiece that achieved great artistic and social impact. In this manner it’s presented an approach to The Wall that pretends analyze the main character Pink with the psychological background. Its theories, models and concepts as a way of looking the human being, as a person, and achieving his internal world and his relation with the external world. Looking for a better comprehension of the emotions, thoughts and behaviors of the character. A question has been considered, if this analysis should be extended to the person Roger Waters, although this work only confines to the character Pink. This aspect constitutes a point of interest to future works.
