Abstract(s)
ABSTRACT: The objective of this work is to study the antecedents of potential labor context and extra-occupational labor fatigue. The literature identifies work schedules and job characteristics as the main work antecedents and the work-family interface may also contribute to the levels of fatigue reported. A total of 129 cabin crew took part in this study used the CIS to assess occupational fatigue (Bultmann et al, 2000), to measure the work characteristics we used the Job Content Questionnaire (Ostry et al, 2001), and to measure recovery experiences we used The Recovery Experience Questionnaire (Sonnentag & Fritz, 2007). Thus, the three scales were adapted by D'Oliveira (2012), and to evaluate the work-family conflict we resorted to SWING (Geurts et al, 2005) adapted by Pereira (2005). The results explore the mediating effect that recovery experiences have on the relationship between fatigue and work-family conflict, as well as the effect of job characteristics have on fatigue. To this end, we used structural equation analysis, according manifest variables. Across this investigation, it was not verified a relation between recuperation experiences and work family conflict. However it was obtained a significative relation between work characteristics and fatigue.
