| dc.description.abstract | “Trans” é um termo identitário que inclui todas as pessoas que se identificam com um género diferente do seu género atribuído ao nascimento. Mesmo havendo mais compreensão face aos problemas de pessoas trans, estes continuam a ser um alvo de discriminação e de violência. A escola é um dos principais locais onde se nota um elevado risco de violência e agressão contra jovens trans. Ambientes heteronormativos, como as aulas de educação física, proporcionam um ambiente hostil para pessoas que não se enquadram nos papéis de género impostas por esta perceção heteronormativa. Este estudo teve como objetivo estudar e compreender as experiências e perceções de pessoas trans num destes ambientes heteronormativos, a escola. Mais especificamente, as suas experiências com a disciplina de educação física. Os participantes deste estudo foram recrutados através do método de bola de neve e as suas idades estão compreendidas entre 24 e 35 anos. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas para melhor captar as experiências subjetivas dos participantes, tal como os diversos temas que surgiram. Estas entrevistas foram feitas tanto online, pela plataforma Zoom, como também presencialmente. Estas foram analisadas usando o método de análise temática e foi possível identificar 2 temas relacionados com as experiências dos participantes com educação física e 3 temas relacionados com as experiências dos participantes com o processo de transição. Os primeiros dois foram intitulados como “Balneários” e “Heteronormatividade” e os seguintes como “Relações familiares”, “Transição médica” e “Relações sociais”. Através deste estudo foi possível identificar os momentos e os aspetos mais importantes da experiência destes participantes e compreender melhor como é que pessoas trans, no contexto português, vivenciam estas aulas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: “Trans” is an identitarian term, used to include everyone that identifies with a gender different from their gender assigned at birth. Even though there is more comprehension to the problems that trans people face, they are still a target for discrimination and violence. The school is one of the main places where an elevated risk of violence and aggression against trans students is noted. Heteronormative places provide a hostile environment to people that do not fit the gender roles imposed by this heteronormative perception. This study has for an objective studying and understanding the experiences and perceptions of trans people in one of these heteronormative environments, the school. Specifically, their experiences with physical education. The participants of this study were recruited using the snowball method and their ages are between 24 and 35. Semi-structured interviews were conducted to better capture the subjective experiences of these participants, such as the different themes that appeared. These interviews were conducted online, via Zoom, as well as in person. These were analyzed using the thematic analysis method and it was possible to identify 2 themes related to the participants experiences with physical education and 3 themes related to the experiences of the participants with the process of transition. The first two were “Locker rooms” and “Heteronormative”, the following were “Family relationships”, “Medical transition” and “Social relationships”. With this study it was possible to identify the moments and aspects that were more important from the experiences of these participants and better understanding of how these trans people, in the portuguese context, live through these classes. | pt_PT |
