O presente estudo pretende averiguar a
As competências
ABSTRACT: Literature still scarce evaluating children socio-emotional competences as an only construct and his relationship with attachment quality. Therefore, the present study aims to verify the association between attachment's qualities and socio-emotional competences, having associations between gender and quality of the attachment and gender and socio-emotional skills been equally explored. In total 55 children participated, aged between 5 and 6 years old, from which 25 were girls. The instruments used were The Family Drawings (Kaplain & Main, 1986) and The Social Competence and Behavior Evaluation Scale (La Frenière & Dumas, 1996). Results suggested that children classified as having a secure attachment tend to develop more social skills than those classified as having an insecure attachment. Moreover, girls presented superior values comparatively to boys. Regarding association between gender and attachment, there were no significant differences. Socio-emotional competences allow a higher social relationships adaptability, namely in pre-scholar period – phase where happens significant changes in children’s life. Thus, it becomes fundamental to cultivate knowledge regarding this constructs for a wider comprehension of children’s health development.
