Abstract(s)
A escala é composta
ABSTRACT: The paper presents an altruism attitudes scale, which evaluates altruistic attitudes in its cognitive, affective and behavioural components. The scale was administered to 213 participants, to allow examination of its validity and reliability characteristics. The scale comprises 12 itens organized in 3 sub-scales (cognitive, affective and behavioural). To evaluate the validity of the scale, it was submited to a confirmatory factor analysis, with structural equations modelling. Results support a tri-dimensional model of attitudes. The validity of the scale was also tested with the application of the scale to a sample of ONG voluntaries. Results showed that the scale distinguishes well voluntary individuals from non voluntary ones. All together, the results reveal that the scale has acceptable psychometric qualities.
