O presente estudo procurou observar a relação entre a percepção que os adolescentes têm do conflito interparental e a ideação suicida. Também se pretendeu investigar se a identificação que os adolescentes têm relativamente à família interfere com a percepção do conflito interparental e com a ideação suicida. A população estudada é constituída por 166 adolescentes entre os 11 e 17 anos; 88 adolescentes do sexo feminino e 78 do sexo masculino. Foram aplicados três questionários, o primeiro de identificação à família, o segundo relativamente à percepção do conflito interparental e o terceiro para estudar a ideação suicida. Os jovens receberam um conjunto de instruções standard, onde eram explicados de uma forma breve os objectivos gerais do estudo, sendo asseguradas a confidencialidade e o anonimato das suas respostas. Os resultados alcançados neste trabalho permitem um melhor conhecimento da percepção do conflito interparental e da ideação suicida, revelando que, a percepção do conflito interparental está correlacionada com a ideação suicida nos jovens. Verificou-se que não existem diferenças significativas entre os géneros, no que diz respeito à percepção do conflito interparental e na ideação suicida. Relativamente à identificação que o jovem sente à sua família, concluiu-se que está correlacionado com a percepção do conflito interparental, no entanto não se obteve resultados que comprovassem a sua correlação com a ideação suicida.
ABSTRACT: This study sought to analyze the relationship between the perception that teenagers have about the interparental conflict and suicidal ideation. It is also intended to investigate if the identification that teens have on the family, interferes with the perception of interparental conflict and suicidal ideation. The sample studied was composed by 166 adolescents between 11 and 17 years, 88 adolescent females and 78 males. Three questionnaires were applied, the first to identify the familiar framework, the second about the perception of interparental conflict and the third to study suicidal ideation. The teenagers received a standard instruction set, which was explained briefly the general objectives of the study and was assured confidentiality and anonymity of their responses. The results obtained in this paper allow a better understanding of the percepcion of interparental conflict and suicidal thoughts, revealing that the perception of interparental conflict is correlated with suicidal ideation in young people. It was found that no significant differences between the sexes, with regard to the perception of interparental conflict and suicidal ideation. Concerning the identification that the young feel to his family, conclude that is correlated with the perception of interparental conflict, however did not obtain results that prove its correlation with suicidal ideation.
