Resumo: As diferenças individuais da qualidade da vinculação representam condições iniciais que, em contexto de interação entre factores biológicos e ambientais, desempenham um papel dinâmico no funcionamento bio-psico-social do indivíduo. Este artigo apresenta uma breve revisão de literatura da teoria e investigação da vinculação na infância e pretende contribuir para uma perspectiva desenvolvimental na prática clínica. A investigação na vinculação tem-nos esclarecido, sobre os efeitos nas crianças de experiências precoces associadas a: (a) rotinas de cuidados fora de casa; (b) separações; (c) disfunções significativas de prestação de cuidados; (d) características das crianças com necessidades especiais. Apresentamos ainda orientações para a prática clínica dada a centralidade dos aspectos relacionais no desenvolvimento saudável das crianças.
Abstract: Attachment individual differences are early conditions that, in the context of the interaction between biologic and environmental factors, play a dynamic role in the individuals’ bio-psycho-social functioning. This paper presents a brief literature review on attachment theory and research and aims to contribute to a developmental clinical perspective. Attachment research shows us the effects on infants, and children, of early experiences that are associated with: (a) out of home care systems; (b) separations; (c) significant caregiving dysfunctions; (d) the characteristics of children with special needs. We also present guidelines to clinical intervention since relational issues are central to infants’ healthy development.
