Abstract(s)
(Versão curta) e o Oldenburg Burnout Inventory.
ABSTRACT: Introduction: The role of managers and consultants in business contexts often exposes professionals to risk factors such as occupational stress and workload overload. These conditions can negatively impact their well-being, including the potential occurrence of burnout. The present study aims to explore the relationship between risk and protective factors in working conditions, psychological well-being, and the occurrence of burnout. Method: The sample consisted of 216 participants. A sociodemographic questionnaire, the Mental Health Inventory, the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (Short Version), and the Oldenburg Burnout Inventory were employed. Results: The results indicate two types of statistically significant relationships between the level of psychological well-being and risk factors, these being positive and negative. Significant relationships were found between higher levels of exposure to risk factors and higher levels of burnout. Furthermore, the results also suggest a negative and statistically significant relationship between the level of psychological well-being and the level of burnout. It was observed that the effect of psychological well-being on burnout does not vary between genders. Conclusion: The findings of this study have direct implications for human resource management and occupational health policies, suggesting the need to promote healthier work environments and support the psychological well-being of workers as preventive measures against the consequences of long-term exposer to risk factors, for example, burnout.
