Abstract(s)
teste(s) aplicados predizem correctamente o desempenho futuro do indivíduo.
A Força Aérea Portuguesa (FAP) realiza
A selection process adjusted both to the organization and to the job is fundamental to the organizational success. This process is composed by many phases like the choice of the most adequate method to evaluate the applicant’s potential, the choice of the best candidate and the validation of the whole process. Although not every organization performs it, validation is an extremely important and relevant procedure that should not be ignored. The validation of the selection process allows evaluating if the applied tests can correctly predict a person’s future performance. Without this phase all the selection process can be useless. The Portuguese Air Force (FAP) regularly execute validation studies, however, this evaluation is usually made only for Pilots selection processes. The main objective of the present study is the validation of a test battery used in the selection process for Private’s in FAP. In other words, the main purpose is to investigate if the results obtained with the application of the selection tests are able to predict the Private’s performance (mean score obtained in the specialty formation course). The results show that only two tests (Mathematics and Verbal Reasoning) of the selection battery, consistently demonstrate predictive power.
