Abstract(s)
The present dissertation focuses, mainly, on a psychoanalytic understanding of Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder as a psychopathological phenomenon. Through the illustration of 2 case studies and a theoretical and clinical discussion of the defining criteria for this disorder, according to the main diagnostic manuals, an understanding of the phenomenological roots of the traumatic states and its psychopathological onset organizations is achieved. It is proposed, furthermore, a theoretical and clinical applicability of the psychoanalytic theory, accessing this disorder, paying particular attention to Ignacio Matte-Blanco’s bi-logical theory, reviewed in the present thesis, where the issues of symmetrical logic, which disrespects the laws of bivalent logic, seem to be especially preponderant in the unconscious traumatic experience.
