Abstract(s)
Pregnancy and Maternity are two sides of the same coin. There may be a pregnancy without a maternity project. It is important for maternity tasks to be guaranteed and for the good performance of the child, that this first stage of pregnancy is desired and planned. Beyond the project within a couple's relationship there is the will to become a mother. When this desire exists, mothers tend to describe it as an instinct, making them ready to face all the challenges and feel skilful. They face it as a gift, which makes them special beings. Not being a mother is something lived in suffer. This work aims at understanding what \really makes a woman want to be a mother. What are the motivations are where does that desire come from? Is it something that changes as time goes by? For this we use the Grounded Theory method, which by an inductive and continuous analysis of interviews intends to build an hypothesis to explain the study target situation.
