Abstract(s)
O presente estudo pretendeu compreender as relações entre o retraimento social e
agressividade dos jovens, a reputação entre pares, as competências escolares, e o conflito
e punição parentais, controlando a Idade. Para obter a reputação entre pares utilizou-se o
Extended Class Play. Para aceder às competências escolares utilizou-se ao Teacher -
Child Rating Scale. Para recolher dados sobre o conflito e punição parentais
percecionadas pelo jovem, foram usadas escalas do Network Relationship Inventory.
Efetuou-se uma análise multivariada para compreender os efeitos do Sexo (masculino e
feminino) e do tipo de Grupo (retirado-não agressivo, retirado-agressivo, controlo e
agressivo). Os resultados obtidos demonstraram efeitos do Sexo e do Grupo nas
dimensões em estudo, que possibilitaram uma melhor distinção dos riscos de
desajustamento associados a cada um dos tipos de retraimento social e agressividade
avaliados.
ABSTRACT: The present study aimed to understand the relationships between social withdrawal and aggressiveness of young adolescents, reputation among peers, school competence, and parental conflict and punishment. To obtain a reputation among peers, the Extended Class Play was used. To access school skills, the Teacher - Child Rating Scale was utilized. To collect data on parental conflict and punishment perceived by the youngster, scales from the Network Relationship Inventory were employed. A multivariate analysis was performed to understand the effects of Sex (male and female) and type of Group (withdrawn-non-aggressive, withdrawn-aggressive, control and aggressive), controlling for Age. The results showed effects of Sex and Group in the dimensions under study, which allowed a better distinction of the risks of maladjustment associated with each of the types of social withdrawal and aggressiveness evaluated.
