Estratégias de sobrevivência psíquica durante o sequestro

O objetivo do presente trabalho debruça-se na análise compreensiva e na reflexão de
algumas das estratégias psíquicas de sobrevivência, utilizadas por uma vítima de sequestro
político.
Ingrid Betancourt era candidata à presidência da Colômbia, aquando sequestrada na
Colômbia pelas FARC, durante seis anos e meio. Durante o seu cativeiro, serviu-se de várias
estratégias, para se proteger psiquicamente dos atos atrozes dos quais estava a ser vítima. O
presente estudo visa à compreensão e à reflexão de algumas das estratégias através de uma
abordagem do modelo dinâmico. Para levar a cabo este estudo, acedeu-se à fonte principal de
literatura, onde Ingrid relata os seus anos como cativa “Até o silêncio tem um fim”. Outros
dos seus escritos serão usados como fontes de apoio para uma melhor compreensão da
experiência. Ao longo do seu cativeiro, Ingrid acode a objetos, a relações, a comportamentos,
para se proteger psiquicamente da destruição da sua identidade. Com o tempo, estas
estratégias iriam sucumbindo perante as tentativas das FARC para a submeter e controlar.
Ingrid é resgatada pelo exército da Colômbia, seis anos e meio depois do seu sequestro, dando
fim a sua tortura.
ABSTRACT: The following document focuses on the discussion and comprehensive analysis of psychological survival strategies utilized by an individual who was victim of political kidnapping. Ingrid Betancourt was a Colombian presidential candidate at the time she was abducted by FARC and consequently held captive for six and a half years. During her captivity, she relied on strategies to protect herself psychologically from the atrocious acts to which she was subjected. This study is aimed toward the understanding and examination of some of these strategies through a dynamic model approach. The primary source of literature utilized to conduct this study was the book “Until Death Do Us Part” in which Ingrid narrates the six years of her abduction. In addition, two other books will serve as support for a better understanding of the kidnapping experience. During the six years of captivity, Ingrid used objects, relationships, and certain behaviors to protect herself psychologically and prevent the destruction of her identity. Over time, however, these strategies would perish before the FARC's attempts to subdue and control her. After six and a half years of being held captive, Ingrid is eventually rescued by the Colombian National Army, which brings her torture to an end.
