Sendo o empreendedorismo um tema central nos dias de hoje e perante o facto de muitas
empresas empreendedoras encerrarem as suas actividades ainda prematuramente, destaca-se
ainda mais a necessidade de percebermos esse conceito. Partindo deste ponto de vista, torna-se
fundamental também aprofundar o conceito de crescimento, dado que é um factor preditivo
do sucesso das empresas empreendedoras.
Desta forma, o presente estudo tem como principais objectivos, identificar quais são os
factores que melhor predizem o crescimento das empresas empreendedoras na segunda fase
do empreendedorismo, a fase de arranque, e também estudar a influência das características
mais determinantes para o sucesso das mesmas. Este estudo é um estudo misto, com uma
abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa, visto que, primeiramente foram realizadas entrevistas
para a construção de um questionário, aplicado posteriormente.
A diferença existente entre mulheres e homens empreendedores relativamente ao seu volume
de vendas e a influência de características individuais, como as habilitações literárias, no
sucesso das suas empresas empreendedoras, são alguns dos resultados apresentados neste
estudo que também vão ao encontro do que é apresentado na literatura.
Considerações, implicações e aplicações dos resultados são discutidos ao longo do trabalho.
ABSTRACT: Entrepreneurship is a central theme in today's day and face the fact that many entrepreneurial businesses close down even prematurely; there is further need to realize that concept. From this point of view, it is also essential to deepen the concept of growth, since it is predictive of successful entrepreneurial firms. Thus, this study has as main objectives, to identify those factors that best predict the growth of entrepreneurial businesses in the second phase of entrepreneurship, start-ups, and also study the influence of the most crucial to the success of them. This study is a mixed, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, since interviews were conducted primarily for the construction of a questionnaire answered later. The difference between women and men entrepreneurs in relation to its sales volume and the influence of individual characteristics such as qualifications, the success of their entrepreneurial companies are some of the results presented in this study that also meet what is presented in the literature. Considerations, implications and applications of the results are discussed throughout this work.
