A Interrupção Voluntária da Gravidez constitui um acontecimento de vida
assinalável e stressante para a mulher que o pratica. Na medida em que o homem é
também parte responsável no processo, é também afectado pela experiência de aborto
na parceira. Ao longo da revisão de literatura procurou-se analisar a experiência do
homem e da mulher, desde a notícia de gravidez indesejada até o término da mesma,
procurando analisar as suas vivências e sentimentos, bem como perceber o impacto
psicológico que o aborto poderá ter nos sujeitos. Foi dada ênfase aos trabalhos acerca da
experiência do parceiro da mulher que aborta, de forma a clarificar o papel do homem
no processo inerente a uma interrupção voluntária da gravidez.
ABSTRACT: Termination of the Pregnancy constitutes a stress and remarcable life event for the woman who practises it. Whereas man is also a responsible part in the process, they are also affected by the experience of abortion of the partner. The goal of the literature review was to analyze the experience of man and woman, since the notice of the unwanted pregnancy until the termination, looking for to analyze its experiences and feelings, as well as perceiving the psychological impact that the abortion may have in those who experience it. The emphasis in the empirical studies concerned in the experience of the partner of the woman who aborts, with the propose to clarify the role of man in the inherent process in a voluntary interruption of the pregnancy.
