Abstract(s)
A metodologia desenvolvida neste estudo será
subjetiva.
(OD) e Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT).
ABSTRACT: The main aim of this study is to explore and understand the subjective experiences of six former residents of Casa de Alba therapeutic community, through the meanings and senses they found. The aim is to analyze the experiences lived by each one of them within a therapeutic community in Alentejo, through the eyes of the former resident. The methodology developed in this study will be the phenomenological method - Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), which seeks through semi-structured interviews to explore meanings and senses elaborated by six former residents of a therapeutic community and, consequently, to outline a final analysis with the essential constituents and variants of the subjective experience. The sample consists of six participants, three male and three female, who completed a residential program at Casa de Alba (without dropout) and left the community for a maximum of two years. The results suggest that the experience at Casa de Alba enabled and facilitated improvements in social functioning and rediscovery of self, in line with the results of other researches into the treatment of people in therapeutic communities. They are also congruent with the benefits studied in the Open Dialogue (OD) and Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) approaches. The main themes of the experience are the relationship as a therapeutic factor, the reframing of life through the therapeutic program and the rediscovery of the self in community.
