Abstract(s)
O Teatro Playback (TP) pode definir-se como um tipo de teatro que tem como
princípio a partilha de narrativas pessoais por parte da audiência, que vê as suas histórias
serem representadas por um grupo de atores e músicos em cena, por meio da arte do
improviso e tendo como premissas a espontaneidade e a ausência de julgamento. Face a tais
características, o TP é facilitador de um ambiente de confiança e segurança para os
participantes, podendo surgir uma componente reparadora entre quem participa. Existe já
literatura no que diz respeito ao impacto positivo que o TP tem nos sujeitos nas mais diversas
áreas, como por exemplo o desenvolvimento de empatia e bem-estar. No entanto, e face a
uma nova vivência a que toda a população esteve sujeita na época do covid-19, foram
adaptadas e desenvolvidas por todo o mundo, as sessões de TP online tendo sido encontrada
uma lacuna no que diz respeito à investigação deste tema. Posto isto, este estudo teve como
questão de investigação “Qual a experiência das pessoas que participam no teatro playback
online e presencial? ” bem como identificar se existem diferenças significativas entre estas
modalidades. O estudo teve como amostra 8 participantes e teve como premissa a análise de
conteúdo das entrevistas sem conhecimento da investigadora da modalidade (online ou
presencial) a que correspondia cada entrevista, tendo assentado sobre uma metodologia
qualitativa. Os resultados deste estudo revelaram que não existem diferenças significativas
nas qualidades essenciais da experiência vivida entre as pessoas que frequentam sessões de
TP na modalidade online ou na presencial. Este resultado é de grande relevância teórica e
prática, uma vez que tal contribui para a possibilidade de uma maior população poder
experienciar os benefícios da prática de TP, nas suas variantes de aplicação quer presencial
quer online.
ABSTRACT: Playback Theatre (PT) can be defined as a theatre form whose essence is in the sharing of personal narratives by the audience, who see their stories being brought to life by a group of actors and musicians on stage through the art of improvisation and based on spontaneity and lack of judgment. Given these characteristics, PT facilitates an environment of trust and security for participants, which leads to the development of a restorative component between individuals. Existing literature demonstrates the positive impact that PT has on individuals across a wide range of fields such as the development of empathy and well-being. However, in light of the new experience to which the entire population was subjected during the COVID-19 era, online PT sessions were adapted and developed across the world. Nevertheless, there is currently a noticeable gap in research on this topic. Consequently, this study has the research question “What is the experience of people who participate in online and in-person playback theatre?”, while also aiming to identify whether there are significant differences between these modalities. This would contribute to the possibility of a larger population being able to experience the benefits of the practice of PT, in a variety of different contexts. The study had a sample of 8 participants and used qualitative methodology, specifically content analysis of the interviews without the researcher's knowledge of the modality (online or in-person) to which each interview corresponded. The results revealed no significant differences in the essential qualities of the experience between people who attend PT sessions online or in person. This result is of great theoretical and practical relevance, as this contributes to the possibility of a larger population being able to experience the benefits of practising PT, in its various forms, whether in person or online.
