| dc.description.abstract | A teoria da vinculação remete para uma tendência inata ao ser humano para a ligação, como estratégia de sobrevivência. A qualidade da relação estabelecida entre o cuidador e a criança pode influenciar o desenvolvimento da criança e o seu funcionamento emocional ao longo da vida. Assim, a vinculação pode fornecer uma base segura para o desenvolvimento da regulação emocional e da empatia. Consoante a aquisição de representações mentais positivas de si mesmas e dos outros, a criança perceciona-se como merecedora de empatia, enquanto regula eficazmente as próprias emoções e comportamentos. A presente investigação teve como primordial objetivo analisar a relação entre a qualidade da vinculação, da regulação emocional e da empatia. Neste estudo participaram 54 crianças, com idades compreendidas entre os 4 os 6 anos. E foram aplicados os seguintes instrumentos: Attachment Story Completion Task - ASCT (Bretherton et al., 1990); Kids Empathic Development Scale -KEDS (Reid etal., 2013) e Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC, Shields & Cichetti, 1997). Os resultados apontam para um efeito moderador da regulação emocional na relação entre a qualidade da vinculação e a empatia. Por sua vez, aquando da interação entre a vinculação com a empatia esta não se demonstra significativa. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The theory of attachment refers to an innate human tendency for bonding as a survival strategy. The quality of the relationship established between the caregiver and the child can influence the child's development and emotional functioning throughout life. Therefore, attachment can provide a secure foundation for the development of emotional regulation and empathy. As the child acquires positive mental representations of themselves and others, they perceive themselves as deserving of empathy while effectively regulating their own emotions and behaviors. The primary objective of this research was to analyze the relationship between the quality of attachment, emotional regulation, and empathy. In this study, 54 children aged between 4 and 6 years participated, and the following instruments were used: Attachment Story Completion Task - ASCT (Bretherton et al., 1990); Kids Empathic Development Scale - KEDS (Reid et al., 2013); and Emotion Regulation Checklist (ERC, Shields & Cichetti, 1997). The results indicate a moderating effect of emotional regulation on the relationship between the quality of attachment and empathy.
