Associativismo e Integração: O papel das associações no apoio à construção da integração de migrantes brasileiros

Nesta dissertação investiga-se o papel das associações de migrantes e o impacto de sua intervenção no processo de adaptação e integração de pessoas migrantes brasileiras em Portugal. A pesquisa explora como estas organizações contribuem para a inclusão social, econômica e cultural, proporcionando apoio e promovendo a coesão comunitária. A partir de uma abordagem qualitativa, foram realizadas 9 entrevistas em profundidade com pessoas migrantes brasileiras residentes em Lisboa e que acessaram por alguma razão os serviços das Associações de migrantes. Os resultados indicam que apesar dos desafios e adversidades enfrentadas pelos entrevistados, a experiência é positiva revelando que as associações desempenham um papel crucial na orientação legal e na criação de redes de suporte e, desta forma, viabilizam a adaptação e integração da população atendida apesar das limitações apresentadas. Este estudo contribui para uma compreensão mais aprofundada do papel associativismo no contexto migratório, oferecendo recomendações para futuras discussões sobre a sobrevivência destas instituições frente às mudanças no cenário atual nas políticas na área das migrações em Portugal.
ABSTRACT: This dissertation investigates the role of migrant associations and the impact of their intervention in the process of adaptation and integration of Brazilian migrants in Portugal. The research explores how these organizations contribute to social, economic and cultural inclusion, providing support and promoting community cohesion. Using a qualitative approach, 9 in-depth interviews were conducted with Brazilian migrants living in Lisbon and who accessed the services for some reason, of Migrant Associations. The results indicate that despite the challenges and adversities faced by the interviewees, the experience is positive, revealing that associations play a crucial role in legal guidance and the creation of support networks and, in this way, enable the adaptation and integration of the population served despite the limitations presented. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of associations in the migratory context, offering recommendations for future discussions on the survival of these institutions in the face of changes in the current scenario of policy development on migrations in Portugal.
