Assim, o objetivo deste
As conclusĂ”es
gestacional.
ABSTRACT: When the death of a baby precedes its birth, it is often the case that as a society we donât understand with enough depth that this baby has already been born, in a way, especially for parents who dream of it and invest in it from a very early age. Thus, we perpetuate words, actions, and silences that belie the pain associated with this loss. This denial of parental suffering by society may act as a social silencing of the trauma, preventing speech and hindering the representation and elaboration of the loss. Thus, the aim of this study is to explore the experience of pregnancy loss, in particular, to understand the impact of social silencing and the role of support groups in this context. To this end, a qualitative methodology was used, through the case study of two women who experienced the loss of a baby before its actual birth. To better understand the impact of social denial on this experience, the experience of participating in a support group made up of people who went through similar experiences will also be explored. The findings of this study were in line with the literature presented. The singularities of pregnancy loss make its elaboration complex. Social silencing impacts the elaboration process in pregnancy loss and support groups are presented as a place of containment and narrative, fundamental in the process of representation and elaboration of pregnancy loss.
