| dc.description.abstract | Dentre as reflexões sobre a condição masculina observa-se a demanda por uma ‘nova paternidade’, baseada numa maior aproximação afectiva entre pai e filho, bem como no seu envolvimento nos cuidados diários com os filhos. Neste estudo objetivou-se investigar as representações sociais de paternidade e maternidade de homens separados, com a guarda dos filhos há pelo menos um ano e que constituíam famílias monoparentais. Foram entrevistados 11 homens com a utilização de um roteiro semiestruturado abordando: dados pessoais, RS de paternidade e maternidade, relacionamento conjugal, guarda, quotidiano e avaliações. Os dados foram analisados através do software Alceste e da Análise de Conteúdo. Os elementos das RS de paternidade encontrados foram: Responsabilidade e Acompanhamento, Afectividade e Companheirismo, Orientação e Correção, Responsável pela Manutenção da Família, Equilíbrio e Igual à Maternidade. Já a maternidade é constituída pelos elementos Aspectos Biológicos, Estar Presente, Afectividade e Companheirismo, Igual à Paternidade, Superior à Paternidade, Não Abandonar os Filhos e Equilíbrio. Os dados apresentam RS tradicionais de paternidade (autoridade moral e financeira) e maternidade (aspectos biológicos, afectivos e superioridade materna) e, ao mesmo tempo, indicam a emergência de elementos que remetem à ‘nova paternidade’, como o pai envolvido afectivamente e cuidador e a maternidade como igual à paternidade. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: The “new fatherhood” is one of the themes in studies about men’s condition and it is characterized by the improvement of the father’s participation in children’s daily care and the expression of affection in fathers’ relationship with their children. This study aimed to investigate social representations of fatherhood and motherhood of fathers who have children’s custody and live alone with them at least for one year. Eleven men separated were interviewed about the following topics: personal data, social representations of fatherhood and motherhood, marital relationship, children’s custody, daily activities and evaluation. Alceste software and Content Analysis were used to analyze the data. Social representations elements of fatherhood were: Responsibility and Accompaniment, Affectivity and Friendship, Orientations and Correction, Material Provider, Equilibrium and The Same as Materhood. Materhood’s elements involves: Biological Aspects, Being Present, Affectivity and Friendship, The Same as Fatherhood, Superior to Fatherhood, Not Leaving Children and Equilibrium. In these representations it is possible to identify traditional elements of fatherhood (authority and provider) and materhood (biological aspects, affectivity and superiority). At the same time, these indicates the emergence of elements related to New Fatherhood (involved and caretaker father and the materhood being the same as fatherhood). | pt_PT |
