Abstract(s)
(IPPA), regulação emocional (EDRE-VR) e comportamento alimentar (TAAc).
vinculação e a regulação emocional no comportamento alimentar.
ABSTRACT: Individuals go through different stages of development throughout life, in which adolescence is a phase of major developmental changes. Some of the main changes experienced are the growing relevance of peers, whose established relationships are based on the attachment relationship with parents, as well as greater autonomy in food choices and in the ability to selfregulate. The attachment-system activation model elucidates the relationship between insecure attachment and maladaptive emotional regulation that allows for an understanding of eating behaviors. Thus, the main objective is to investigate the influence of the attachment to parental figures and peers and the emotional regulation on adolescents' eating behaviors. The present study included 157 adolescents (M= 14.9; SD= 1.7; 53.5% female) who responded to selfreport scales on attachment to parents and peers (IPPA), emotional regulation (DERS-SF) and eating behavior (CHEAT). The results suggest that better quality of attachment to parents and peers is associated with lower emotional regulation difficulties and disruptive eating behaviors. Limited emotion regulation strategies were found to mediate the relationship between mutual acceptance and communication with parents, and food concerns. Limited access to emotion regulation strategies was also found to mediate the relationship between withdrawal and rejection from peers and food concerns. The results obtained highlight the importance of attachment and emotional regulation in eating behavior.
