Abstract(s)
Objectivo: averiguar a existência ou não do Sindroma de Burnout na amostra,
correlacionando ainda esta variável com Traços de Personalidade, Estratégias de
Coping e variáveis Sócio-Demográficas.
Método: estudo considera-se observacional-descritivo transversal. Participaram
77 Auxiliares de Acção Médica do sexo feminino, com idades compreendidas
entre os 20 e os 65 anos. A amostra foi recolhida no Centro de Apoio Social de
Oeiras. Foram utilizados, o Questionário de Caracterização Sócio-demográfica, a
Maslasch Burnout Inventory – HSS (Leiter, Maslach & Jackson, 1996),
Questionário de Satisfação com o Trabalho (Ribeiro & Maia, 2002), NEO-FFI-
20 (Bertoquini & Ribeiro, 2006) e o Brief Cope (Ribeiro & Rodrigues, 2004).
Resultados: Verificou-se a inexistência de Burnout na amostra, apesar da baixa
satisfação laboral. Constatou-se, por outro lado, a prevalência do Traço de
Personalidade Conscienciosidade e da Estratégia de Coping Planear.
Discussão: A estatística correlacional evidencia a fraca consistência e a
mutabilidade da ausência do Sindroma.
Conclusão: A continuação de estudos que visam esta amostra deve ser prioritária
devido a lacuna existente e à importância da mesma em contexto clínico.
Objective: To investigate the existence of Burnout Syndrome in the sample, correlating this variable with Personality Traits, Strategies of Coping and Socio- Demographic variables. A Socio-Demographical Questionnaire, the Maslasch Burnout Inventory – HSS (Leiter, Maslach & Jackson, 1996), Job Satisfaction Questionnaire (Ribeiro & Maia, 2002), NEOFFI- 20 (Bertoquini & Ribeiro, 2006) and the Brief Cope (Ribeiro & Rodrigues, 2004) were used. Results: Results showed the inexistence of Burnout in the sample, despite the low job satisfaction. However, it was stated the prevalence of the Personality Trait Conscientiousness and the Strategy of Coping Planning. Discussion: The correlacional statistics enhances the low consistence as well as the mutability of the Syndrome absence. Conclusion: Prosecution of studies aiming this sample should be a priority, due to the existing current gap and to its importance in the medical context.
