O essencial do texto que aqui se apresenta, visa
uma actualização da informação sobre o fenómeno e o
perfil do alfabetizado no Antigo Regime centrado essencialmente
no caso português, assim como uma
pesquisa e dicussão das questões metodológicas que
nos facilitem a compreensão do objectivo antes citado.
ABSTRACT: The main purpose of this paper is to gather information about the phenomena and profile of the Portuguese Ancient Regime literate. We also expose and discuss some of the principal methodological problems that we could find in our research, and the way we tried to understand and solve them, in order to accomplish our main goal.
