| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho buscou analisar como os estereótipos da “mulher brasileira” contribui para a violência por parceiro íntimo contra mulheres brasileiras imigrantes em Portugal. Para isto, teve como delineamento o método qualitativo, e utilizou entrevistas com seis mulheres brasileiras imigrantes que vivenciaram violência cometida por um parceiro íntimo português em Portugal. Este estudo mostrou que no contexto da violência por parceiro íntimo em Portugal, o estereotipo da “mulher brasileira” coloca mulheres brasileiras imigrantes em um lugar de maior vulnerabilidade de enfrentar esse tipo de violência e torna mais difícil ultrapassá-la, em razão de prejudicar o estabelecimento de relações sociais, de provocar o receio dessas mulheres de pedirem ajuda aos serviços de apoio, de dificultar o acesso a moradia e ao emprego, e de ser utilizado pelos agressores como uma forma de tentar justificar a violência que cometem, de impedir que as sobreviventes peçam ajuda, e de saírem impunes dos crimes que cometem. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This research aimed to analyze how the stereotype of the “Brazilian woman” contributes to intimate partner violence against Brazilian immigrant women in Portugal. We used the qualitative method, and used interviews with six Brazilian immigrant women who faced violence committed by a Portuguese intimate partner in Portugal. This study showed that in the context of intimate partner violence in Portugal, the stereotype of the “Brazilian woman” makes Brazilian immigrant women face a greater vulnerability to face this type of violence and makes it more difficult to overcome it, as it harms the establishment of social relationships, of provoking the fear of these women to ask for help from support services, of hindering access to housing and employment, and of being used by aggressors as a way to try to justify the violence they commit, prevent that survivors ask for help, and get away with the crimes that they commit. | pt_PT |
