| dc.description.abstract | Este artigo baseia-se num estudo realizado com 148 estudantes do Curso Superior de Enfermagem (74 do 1 .O ano e 74 do 3."). Teve três objectivos centrais. Primeiro, analisar o seu nível de desenvolvimento sociomoral e a sua orientação face às concepções dominantes em enfermagem. Segundo, avaliar o impacte do curso nessas duas dimensões. Terceiro, determinar possíveis relações entre desenvolvimento sociomoral e orientação em enfermagem. O desenvolvimento sociomoral das estudantes e a sua orientação em enfermagem foram avaliados em termos quantitativos (i.e., Teste de Definir Valores Morais de J. Rest), e em termos qualitativos (i.e., entrevista semi-estruturada). Os resultados mostram (1) que os sujeitos tendem para uma orientação mista em termos de conceptualização de enfermagem; (2) que a influência do curso nas duas dimensões estudadas é praticamente nula; e (3) que, em termos qualitativos, existe uma associação entre orientação moral e orientação em enfermagem, a orientação para o tratar mais visível nos sujeitos de menor desenvolvimento sociomoral, e a orientação para o cuidar mais saliente nos sujeitos de nível moral mais elevado. | por |
| dc.description.abstract | ABSTRACT: This article is based on a study carried out with 148 nursing students at the first and third year of their Nursing Course. Its first goal was to assess nursing students’ level of moral development and their prevalent orientation toward nursing (i.e., care/cure orientation). The second goal was to examine whether nursing students’ moral development and their orientation toward nursing develop over time (i.e., from the first to the third year of their course). Finally, we related students’ prevalent nursing orientation to their level of moral development. Students’ moral development and carekure orientation were assessed in both quantitative (i.e., DIT and carekure scale) and qualitative terms (i.e., semi-structured interview). Results show (1) that subjects tended to reveal a mix nursing orientation; (2) that there was no significant impact of their nursing course on either their moral development or nursing orientation; and (3) that, in qualitative terms, nursing students with higher level of moral development were more likely to be careoriented, and students with lower level of moral development were more likely to be cure-oriented. | por |
